The shirt off his back: Matt Kemp does an awesome thing

Los Angeles Dodgers, Matt Kemp, Uncategorized

Even in the midst of a slow start and concerns about his surgically-repaired shoulder — not to mention his team’s losing streak and descent into the NL West basement — Matt Kemp is a player willing to give a fan less fortunate than himself the shirt off his back, and then some. Check this footage from Sunday evening’s Dodgers-Giants game at AT&T Park, which was posted to YouTube and then to the Vin Scully is My Homeboy blog:

Yep, that’s Kemp — a superstar with a $160 million contract — signing a ball for a disabled fan who is “fighting a tough battle” according to original uploader stayinhigh4209, then gives him his hat, his jersey and his shoes before shaking his hand.

It’s a bit dusty in here…

Matt Kemp does one of the coolest things I have ever seen.  Stunning in its coolness.  Matt Kemp, you are awesome.
